Home Assistant, local connectivity, or API timeout

Overview

Bond products have Local HTTP API documentation for Bond products using v2 firmware. Home Assistant’s Bond integration uses a Bond hub host and access token, and Home Assistant points users to Bond Local API documentation for obtaining the IP address and access token.

Basic checks

  1. Confirm the Bond device is online in the Bond Home app.
  2. Confirm the phone or computer running Home Assistant is on the same local network as the Bond device.
  3. Confirm the Bond hub IP address.
  4. Confirm the access token.
  5. Confirm the Bond device is reachable on the local network.
  6. Restart the integration or reload the Home Assistant integration if needed.
  7. If using Bond Bridge Pro, confirm whether it is connected by Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Common symptoms

  • Home Assistant cannot discover the Bond hub.
  • Access token does not work.
  • API requests time out.
  • Devices appear unavailable.
  • Device state appears out of sync.
  • Commands work in the Bond Home app but not in Home Assistant.

When to contact Support

Contact Support if:

  • The Bond device works in the Bond Home app but local API access fails.
  • API requests time out repeatedly.
  • The customer cannot obtain the IP address or access token.
  • Devices are intermittently unavailable.
  • The issue involves custom automation, advanced networking, VLANs, firewalls, or third-party platforms.
