What is Bond Bridge Pro?
Bond Bridge Pro is a professional-grade smart home bridge that lets you control compatible remote-controlled devices from the Bond Home app and supported smart home platforms. It is designed especially for motorized shades/screens, ceiling fans, fireplaces, and other supported RF-controlled devices.
What can Bond Bridge Pro control?
Bond Bridge Pro can control many compatible RF-controlled devices, including motorized shades and screens, ceiling fans, fireplaces, and certain supported lighting devices. Compatibility depends on the device brand, remote type, frequency, and protocol, so customers should check the supported device list or provide the remote/device model when asking about compatibility.
How many devices can Bond Bridge Pro control?
Bond Bridge Pro can control up to 50 devices and is designed to cover approximately 3,500 sq. ft.
Does Bond Bridge Pro need Wi-Fi?
Bond Bridge Pro supports Wi-Fi, but one of its key Pro features is Ethernet + PoE. Ethernet can provide a more stable network connection than Wi-Fi, and PoE allows the device to receive power and network connectivity through a compatible Ethernet setup.
What is PoE?
PoE stands for Power over Ethernet. It allows Bond Bridge Pro to receive power through an Ethernet cable when connected to compatible PoE equipment, reducing the need for a separate power adapter near the installation location.
Where should Bond Bridge Pro be installed?
Install Bond Bridge Pro in a central location relative to the devices it will control. RF range can be affected by distance, walls, construction materials, metal, concrete, and interference. If some devices respond inconsistently, especially in groups, placement and RF reliability should be checked before assuming the Bridge is defective.
Can I still use my original remote after setting up Bond Bridge Pro?
Yes. In most cases, the original remote can still be used after the device is added to Bond. Bond Bridge Pro does not usually replace the remote; it learns or communicates the compatible commands so the device can also be controlled through Bond.
How do I add a device to Bond Bridge Pro?
Open the Bond Home app, tap the + button, select the appropriate device type, and follow the in-app setup flow. For shades, fans, and other devices, the app may ask for brand/model information or guide the user through a remote-learning or pairing process.
Why isn’t my remote supported?
Some remotes use unsupported frequencies, protocols, rolling codes, encrypted communication, or hardware that cannot be learned reliably. Please provide the remote brand, model, and frequency so compatibility can be checked.
Does Bond Bridge Pro support 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
Bond Bridge Pro supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and also supports Ethernet.
Why is my Bond Bridge Pro showing up as a Wi-Fi network?
That usually means the Bridge is in setup/access point mode. This can happen during initial setup or after certain reset steps. Return to the Bond Home app and complete setup or reconnect the Bridge to the home network.
What does a green Wi-Fi reset do?
A green reset is used to reconnect the Bridge to a network without deleting all saved devices. A Wi-Fi reset is different from a factory reset, which can remove devices and settings.
How do I reboot Bond Bridge Pro?
Power-cycle the Bridge by disconnecting power, waiting briefly, and reconnecting it. If it is powered by PoE, disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet/PoE connection or restart the relevant PoE port/equipment.
Can Bond Bridge Pro control groups of devices?
Yes. Bond Home supports groups, and Bond Bridge Pro can trigger group actions.
Why does one shade sometimes fail when I run a group command?
If some devices in a group respond while others do not, that often points to RF range, placement, or interference rather than a simple app or network issue. Try testing individual device control, moving the Bridge to a more central location, reducing sources of interference, and checking whether the issue follows a specific device or location.
Does Bond Bridge Pro work with Alexa, Google Home, or SmartThings?
Yes. Bond Bridge Pro works with Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings.
Can Bond Bridge Pro integrate with third-party control systems?
Yes. Bond Bridge Pro supports integrations, including generated hex codes over Ethernet for third-party systems such as Lutron HomeWorks. This requires Bond Bridge Pro firmware v4.29.42 or higher, a computer on the same network, and a third-party system that can send raw hex strings over Ethernet.
What can third-party hex-code integration control?
Third-party systems can trigger supported Bond actions such as opening/closing shades, setting shade position when supported, controlling ceiling fan speed/direction when supported, toggling fan lights, running group actions, and running Bond scenes.
Are there limits to hex-code integration?
Yes. Open-Stop-Close-Stop / “ToggleOpenHold” is not supported, and the integration is one-directional: third-party systems can control devices attached to Bond Bridge Pro, but Bond does not control Lutron or other third-party motors through that method.
Can I use Bond Bridge Pro outdoors?
Bond Bridge Pro can be taken outdoors with Shield Pro, the weather-proofing kit for Bond Bridge Pro.
What should I do if Bond Bridge Pro has no light or appears offline?
Check power first. If the LED ring is completely dark, try a known-working outlet or PoE source, reseat the cable, and confirm the PoE injector/switch is working if PoE is used. If the Bridge powers on but is offline, try rebooting it and reconnecting it to the network. A no-light condition after multiple power tests may indicate a power supply, cabling, PoE, or hardware issue.
Can multiple phones or tablets control the same Bond Bridge Pro?
Yes. Multiple phones or tablets can control Bond devices by using the Bond Home app with the appropriate account/access setup.
How do I find the Bond Bridge Pro IP address or MAC address?
In the Bond Home app, go to the Bridge’s settings and look under network or connection information.
How do I contact Bond support?
Customers can contact Bond support through the Bond Home app or the support options listed on Bond’s website. For compatibility questions, include the device brand, model, remote model, frequency if available, and a short description of what is not working.
