Installation, power, and troubleshooting questions regarding the Breeze Pro Wind, Rain, and Sun sensor.
Can I use the Breeze Pro without the Bridge?
No. You must use the Breeze Pro with the Bridge.
Can the Breeze Pro control more than a single pergola motor?
Yes. The Breeze Pro will control any of the devices paired with your StruXure Bridge, including lights, fans, and screens.
How do I power the Breeze Pro?
The Breeze Pro has a solar panel and 2 AA Batteries for back up. It does not need a power source unless you are in cold weather.
Cold Weather Note: An internal heater may be needed to avoid snow and ice buildup. In this case, you can use a 12-24VDC power supply polarity insensitive. Do not plug it to 110VAC power!
Recommended Power Supply: Available on our website
How do I set the thresholds for the Breeze Pro?
The entire setup, including setting thresholds, is done via the Bond Home app and is very intuitive.
How can I tell that the Breeze Pro actually works?
The Breeze Pro sends a signal to the Bridge every 10 seconds. You can view live weather data measurements every 10 seconds in the app.
What is the Breeze Pro event trigger priority?
Events are triggered in the following priority order (High priority events override or cancel low priority events):
- Wind (First Priority)
- Rain (Second Priority)
- Sun (Third Priority)
What is the lockout time for a Wind event?
Once a Wind event is triggered, there is a lockout period of 4 hours. During this time:
- Louvers will remain open.
- All events coming from automation (Alexa, schedules, etc.) are blocked.
- You can still open/close the louvers manually using the app, Mate Remote, or SideKick.
Does Breeze Pro trigger at the end of a Rain event?
Currently, no. The Breeze Pro does not automatically trigger to open the louvers at the end of a rain event. You can open the louvers manually using the app, Mate Remote, or SideKick.
How does Breeze Pro sense rain?
The Breeze Pro uses a two-step rain detection system:
- It first detects humidity by measuring the connectivity of water.
- Next, it looks for water drops hitting the sensor.
Note: Pouring water on BreezePro from a garden hose won't trigger a rain event, as the sensor is looking for the drops of rain. This prevents false positives.
How can I configure Breeze Pro?
BreezePro configuration is done via the Bond Home app using two methods:
Method 1: Pairing with a QR code
- Open the Bond Home app.
- Press **+**.
- Press “Scan QR code” on the bottom-right.
- Scan the QR code placed in the rubber band.
Method 2: Pairing using a CAL button
- Open the Bond Home app.
- Press **+**.
- Scroll down to Accessories and select **BreezePro**.
- Follow the setup instructions.
What are the recommended installation locations for Breeze Pro?
The Breeze Pro needs clear access to the elements for accurate readings:
- Recommended distance from ground: 13ft (4m)
- Recommended distance from roofs and parallel surfaces: 3ft (1m)
- Recommended distance radius from near objects and trees: 10ft (3m)
What is the best setup experience recommendation?
We recommend that you set up the BreezePro (WiFi is required) and pair it with the Bond Bridge before you install it on the post. This guarantees the device is connected and you are getting a signal. If an intermittent connection occurs after installation, it can be easily isolated to a range-related issue.
What is the recommended mounting post?
Recommended Mount (Aluminum): Recommended Mount
Can I use a single Breeze Pro to control devices on multiple Bond bridges?
Today, no. It is not possible to link the Breeze Pro to control devices across multiple bridges. However, the opposite is true: you can have **multiple Breeze Pro** devices controlling multiple devices on a single Bond Bridge.
How can I test Breeze Pro?
In the app, there are **Wind, Rain, and Sun event trigger test simulations**. This is useful for troubleshooting issues as it ensures that Breeze Pro events are reaching the Bond Bridge.
