Mate Pro Remote (MT-1500) FAQ

Outdoor Shading - Decatur, Birmingham, & Huntsville, AL

Frequently asked questions regarding the StruXure Mate Pro remote capabilities, pairing, and configuration.

Does Mate Pro require the Bridge to control the Pergola motor?

No. The Mate Pro can pair directly to the pergola motor.

Just choose the **RTS motor technology** when setting up the Mate Pro and follow the same pairing procedure you are used to when using the Somfy remote control.

Does Mate Pro require the Bridge to control the pergola lights?

It depends.

  • If the Pergola lights are controlled by a Somfy remote control (RTS), then Mate Pro can control the lights directly.
  • If the lights can be controlled from the Bridge only, the Mate Pro will have to be paired with the Bridge.
Can I control the ceiling fan directly from the Mate Pro?

No. The Bridge controls your ceiling fan. Once you use the StruXure Bridge to control the ceiling fan, you can then:

  1. Link the Mate Pro (K1-K3) buttons.
  2. Configure them via the Bond Home app.

Example: Double-pressing on the K-1 button on Mate Pro can be configured to turn the fan to speed 4.

Can I have App control when only installing the Mate Pro without the Bridge?

No. The App is used only to connect to Mate Pro over Bluetooth for configuration purposes. Once configuration is complete, the Bluetooth connection is terminated, and the remote operates directly with the pergola.

For Phone / WiFi Control, you will need to use the StruXure Bridge.

Can I submerge the Mate Pro under water?

No. The Mate Pro is IP 44 rated and can be left outside in the rain, but it is not designed to be submerged in water. Mate Pro is weather resistant, not waterproof.

Can I use schedules with Mate Pro?

Yes. As of Dec 30th 2025, Mate Pro supports Schedules.

You may need to use the Bond Home app to perform a firmware update to get the latest features.

How do I change the motor technology that Mate Pro will control?

You have two options:

  1. Use the app: This is the recommended path.
  2. Manual Mode: Tap the K1 and K3 buttons at the same time briefly. This enters programming mode, and motor technologies will show up on the screen. Use the Up and Down buttons to select the technology.
Does Mate Pro or the Bridge work with Aspect lighting?

The answer depends on the dimmer you are using. If you are using an RTS dimmer, then the answer is YES.

How does Mate Pro work with StruXure pergolas?

Mate Pro (MT-1500) is the recommended physical interface for StruXure. It provides a premium, outdoor-capable user experience:

  • ✔ Outdoor-capable smart remote
  • ✔ Controls louvers, screens, shutters, and accessories
  • ✔ Pairs via Bond Home app
  • ✔ Works with Bond Bridge Pro for expanded functionality
  • ✔ Ideal for pergolas where wall keypads aren’t ideal
  • ✔ Allows control of multiple zones of motors
  • ✔ More flexible than a fixed keypad

How does the Mate Pro pair to StruXure pergola motors?

Each Mate Pro channel has its own physical pair button. For Dooya/StruXure motors, the Mate Pro’s channel button replaces the motor’s P2 button.

To Pair: Press the Mate Pro channel button once to enter pairing mode, then send the appropriate shade/motor command from the app or remote.

What is the most common reason the Mate Pro doesn’t appear in the Bond app during setup?

The Mate Pro goes into sleep mode to save battery. If the installer doesn’t press and hold the top button for a few seconds to wake it, it won’t broadcast over Bluetooth and won’t appear in the app.

Can a Mate Pro control multiple pergola zones (louvers, screens, lights)?

Yes. The Mate Pro can control up to 15 individual channels plus an “All” channel. This allows you to assign different channels to separate zones (louvers, screens, or lights) for independent control. The “All” channel operates all zones simultaneously.

What additional benefits do StruXure installers get when using the Mate Pro with a Bond Bridge Pro?

With a Bridge Pro, the Mate Pro enables:

  • Triggering automations and scenes (e.g., “Open Louvers 50% + Turn on LEDs”).
  • Remote control, scheduling, and platform integration (Alexa/Google).
  • Support for multi-bridge environments for large outdoor projects.
Why might the motor jog with the original remote but not during Mate Pro pairing?

This usually means one of two things:

  1. The wrong motor technology is selected (e.g., Dooya/RTS/Nice/etc.).
  2. The motor was not put into P2/pairing mode correctly.

Ensuring the correct protocol is selected and the motor is in pairing mode will allow the Mate Pro to trigger the jog response.
