(Bond Bridge Pro) Moving devices to Bond Bridge Pro

You can move devices from a Bond Bridge with a serial number starting with ZZ to a Bond Bridge Pro using the steps below with the Backup and Restore feature.

Backing up devices

  1. Make sure the Bond Bridge or Bond Bridge Pro are on the same WiFi network as the device running the Bond Home application.
  2. Select the Bond Bridge or Bond Bridge Pro in the Bond Home application.
  3. Choose advanced settings.
  4. Select Backup and Restore.
    1. If this is the first backup, the restore option will not be available.
  5. Select Create a new backup.
  6. The backup is created in year-month-day followed by hour:minute:second format.
  7. Each backup will be listed with the newest at the top of the list.
  8. Remove power from the Bond if there are Somfy RTS shade devices.
    1. If the Bond used for the back sends commands to the shade this could create issues with the shade being controlled on the Bond where the restore is executed.

Restoring from a backup

***note - backups are only on the Android or iOS device used to create the backup.

  1. If you have an integration you will need to:
    1. Alexa - delete old Bond devices and before the restore, do a discovery after the restore.  Un-linkling and re-linking the Bond account will not remove them.
    2. Google - Un-link and re-link the Bond account.
    3. Smartthings - Un-link and re-link the Bond account.
  2. Make sure the Bond Bridge or Bond Bridge Pro are on the same WiFi network as the device running the Bond Home application.
  3. You need to use the same device the backup was made on to do the restore.
  4. Select the Bond Bridge or Bond Bridge Pro in the Bond Home application.
  5. Choose advanced settings.
  6. Select Backup and Restore.
  7. Select Restore from an existing backup.
    1. If you have never created a backup, Restore from an existing backup will not be displayed.
  8. Select a backup to restore.  The newest backup is at the top of the list and select Restore.
  9. The restore is complete when Restore Done is displayed.
