(Outdoor Lighting) Set up

Setting up Smart By Bond Outdoor lighting 

  1. Connect the Hardware
    1. Follow the manufacturer manual for installing the hardware.
  2. Open the Bond Home Application. If you do not have the application yet, download the Bond Home Application ​ from your device's App Store/Play Store.
  3. If you already have a Bond account, simply log in and continue to the next step. If you do not have a Bond account press “Create account” and enter your name, email, and password.
  4. Select to add a device

  5. Select Smart by Bond
  6. Connect to your Bond Config Wifi that starts with "T".

  7. Once the Bond Application connects to your light, select CONTINUE.

  8. Test your device by tapping on the light bulb icon.
       - If your light responds, select YES, IT WORKS!

  9. Specific Information about your Outdoor Lights.
    1. Select Location and choose from one of the predefined entries or add your own by selecting OTHER. When finished select Save.
    2. Select Device Name and enter the name for your device. When finished, select OK to save.
      1. Please note that this name will be used for integrations so a simple easy to remember name is best.
  10. Select CONTINUE

  11. Select the WiFi network you would like to connect with.
  12. Enter the WiFi password and select OK.
  13. If there is an issue with the connection, wrong password entered. You will receive an error message. Please select OK, I’ve Got it.
    1. Start the setup process again by choosing +.
    2. You will start at step 8 to confirm the application controls the light.
  14. Once the connection is made, please select DONE.
  15. If the device is not displayed in the BOND application, please swipe down to refresh.

Using with Integrations

Alexa

  1. Go to the Alexa application. Click more located menu on the bottom right corner of the screen and choose “Skills & Games”.
  2. Select search and type Bond Home into the search bar.  Next, click on the Bond Home skill and choose to Enable the skill.
  3. You should be prompted to enter your Bond user and password to authenticate the Bond.
  4. You should see a “Discover Devices” pop up. Select the “Discover Devices” option. You should then see your devices listed in "All Devices" or the fan lights in "Lights" and "Switches" will list your fans. If your devices are not found, select "+" followed by "Add Device", "Other" and "Discover Devices". If that doesn’t work please try the following:
  5. Restart your Alexa device and the Bond.
  6. Disable and re-enable the skill for the BOND in the Alexa application.
  7. Download and install any software updates available for Alexa and Bond.
  8. Make sure Alexa, the device the Alexa application is on and the Bond are on a network that has a connection to the Internet.
  9. These are the Alexa commands you can use.

Google

  1. Go to the Google Home app. (make sure you’re logged in). Click on “+”.
  2. Select "Set up device".
  3. Select "Works with Google".
  4. Select search.
  5. Type Bond into the search bar and click the search button.
  6. Select “Bond Home”. (DO NOT USE Bond Smart Home.)
  7. You should be prompted to enter your Bond user and password to authenticate the Bond. Once the pairing is complete, your devices should appear.
    1. Assign the devices to the proper Home and location if requested.
  8. If the devices do not appear please try the following:
  9. Restart Google Home and the Bond.
  10. Unlink and then relink your Bond account to Google Home.
  11. Download and install any software updates available for Google and Bond.
  12. Make sure Google Home, the device the Google application is on and the Bond are on a network that has a connection to the Internet.
  13. These are the Google commands you can use.
