(Bond Bridge) - Google commands when using the Bond Home application

The information in this article provides the commands you can use to control your Bond Bridge devices when using the Bond Home application. 

VOICE COMMANDS

Syncing devices

"Ok Google, sync devices"

Support for Ceiling Fans

  • "Turn on/off <device name>"
  • "Set <device name> to speed #"
  • "Set <device name> to low/medium/high"
  • "Set <device name> speed to <beaufort scale>"
  • "Set <device name> to 0-100 percent"
  • "Increase <device name>"
  • "Increase <device name> speed"
  • "Decrease <device name>"
  • "Decrease <device name> speed"
  • "Increase <device name> by 15%"
  • "Decrease <device name> by 50%"

If ceiling fan has a light

  • "Turn on/off <device name> light"
  •  If the Google Home / assistant application only shows the on/off icon there is no dimming/brightness control.
  • Brightness control
    If Google Home / assistant shows on/off and an adjustable slider, you can set brightness by adjusting the slider or using the voice commands below.
    • "Increase <device name> light"
    • "Increase <device name> light brightness"
    • "Decrease <device name> light"
    • “Increase <device name> light by 10%"
    • "Decrease <device name> light by 90%"

If Ceiling fan has up and down lights

  • “Turn on/off <device name> light” – for down light
  • “Turn on/off <device name> up light” – for up light

Support for Motorized Shades & Blinds

  • "Open/Close <device name>"
  • "Set <device name> to preset position"

Support for Fireplace

  • "Turn on/off <device name>"
  • “Set <device name> to 50%” *
  • “Increase/decrease <device name>” *
  • “Increase/decrease <device name> by 20%” *

If Fireplace has a light

  • "Turn on/off <device name> light" (if fireplace has light)
  • If Fireplace light has Brightness control
    • If Google Home / assistant application shows on/off and a slider as in the examples below, you can set brightness by adjusting the slider or using voice commands.

  • "Increase <device name> light"
  • "Increase <device name> light brightness"
  • "Decrease <device name> light"
  • "Increase <device name> light by 10%"
  • "Decrease <device name> light by 90%"

*Flame control supportYou will see a brightness control in the Google Home / assistant integration if flame control is supported.

Support for any other generic device type (last item in the Device type listing):

  • "Turn on/off <device name>"

Support for Outdoor Lighting

If Google Home / assistant shows on/off and an adjustable slider, you can set brightness by adjusting the slider or using the voice commands below.

    • "Turn on/off <device name>"
    • "Increase <device name>"
    • "Decrease <device name>"
    • “Increase <device name> by 10%"
    • "Decrease <device name> by 90%"

***Note - use the chart below to convert the low, medium and high commands to the equivalent ceiling fan speed.

If there is an issue with Google correctly interrupting the fan speed, please try using the Beaufort name from the information below.

On a 6 speed fan you would say "Hey Google, set ceiling fan to Hurricane Force" to set the fan to speed 6.
