Want to know how to set up and use your new Bond Breeze Pro? Just follow the steps in our easy to use Bond Home application or read the information below.
Notes
*To see the light intensity and wind speed detected by the Breeze Pro, tap on the Breeze Pro icon to see the current detected information.
*The Bond Bridge Pro the Breeze is being added to, must be in Bondsync mode. If the bridge is set to listen to 3rd party remotes, the Breeze will not work. This article explains how to change the mode.
Setting up
- Make sure to install the batteries in the Breeze Pro. Please see the images below for battery location and proper polarity direction.
- If the unit is being used where temperatures will drop below 35 F, please make sure to use the include 12V DC power cable. This will need to be connected to a 12V 1 amp DC power source rated for outdoor use.
Do not connect to 120VAC
Connecting the Breeze Pro to 120VAC will cause permanent damage and make it non operational!

There are numerous settings for the Breeze Pro that will impact when and how the Bond Bridge Pro will control the devices.
Priorities
Wind-->Rain-->Sun
Wind takes priority over all threshold triggers. If the outdoor shutter is open because of a schedule and the threshold for wind is met, that will override the schedule and close the shutter.
Commands from the Bond Home application or Sidekick will override the Breeze Pro threshold settings. If you set a wind threshold for 26 mph to close a shutter, pressing open in the Bond Home application will open the shutter even if the wind speed is above 26 mph.
Wind Detection
Setting the mph for wind speed will cause the Bond devices linked to the wind threshold to preform the action. The action could be close or open depending on the device being controlled.
Notes on wind detection
- If the wind threshold is met and the shutter is open it will close and not automatically open unless the wind is calm and there is a command from the Bond Home application or a scheduled event.
- Schedules will not operate until 4 hours after the wind is calm.
-
The sensor uses ultrasonic pulses to measure the wind speed. Ultrasonic (audio with frequencies higher than audible) are used to measure the speed of sound in different directions. This information is used to calculate wind speed.
Rain detection
There are no settings to control rain intensity for rain detection. Turning it on will cause the linked Bond devices to perform their action. A downpour should cause the trigger to operate in under 20 seconds.
- The rain is detected by the combination of two different sensors. A humidity sensor and a haptic sensor. For rain to be detected, the Breeze should be wet and rain drops must be hitting it.
The haptic sensor measures the rain by counting the number of rain drop hits.
-
If the drops are thick, it triggers fast, in 10 to 20 seconds. It may take a little more time to trigger if the rain is very light.
-
- When the sensor threshold triggers an event, the next scheduled event or integration action will not happen for 8 hours after the sensor detects no rain.
Sun detection
The sunlight threshold goes from 0 to 8. Where 0 is dark and 8 is brightest sunlight.
- When the sensor threshold triggers an event, the next scheduled event or integration action will not happen for 6 hours after the sensor detects no light.
Threshold values
< 200 Lux = 0 - Dark
< 500 Lux = 1 - Twilight
< 1000 Lux = 2 - Deep Shade
< 2000 Luz = 3 - Shade
< 4000 Lux = 4 - Light Shade
< 35000 Lux = 5 - Light Sunlight
< 100000 Lux = 6 - Sunlight
< 180000 Lux = 7 - Bright Sunlight
Otherwise = 8 - Brightest Sunlight
Power failures and Breeze Pro reboots
The Breeze Pro threshold triggers (values that need to be met), will be set to idle. This means they are at the non activated level.
If you would like to test the operation of the Breeze Pro not using the Test Trigger function in the Bond Home application, we have some suggestions for you.
Priorities
Wind-->Rain-->Sun
To test the trigger for wind, a standard hair dryer should provide enough of a breeze to trigger the wind threshold.
- Select SET THRESHOLDS
- Make sure Wind Detection is enabled and their are devices associated to the trigger.
-
Move the speed slider all the way to the left so 15 is displayed
- Select back at the top left.
- Turn a hair dryer on with only the fan speed set to high. Make sure the hair dryer is about 6 inches from the Breeze Pro and pointed to the center screen mesh.
- After the reading updates in about 15 seconds, the threshold should be met and you will see a wind speed and the associated devices should activate.
Rain detection
The rain is detected by the combination of two different sensors. A humidity sensor and a haptic sensor. For rain to be detected, the Breeze should be wet and rain drops must be hitting it.
To test the sensor, make sure the Bond Home application has the Breeze Pro selected and you are looking at the measurement screen. Put the Breeze Pro under a slowly running faucet as in the example above. After about 20 seconds the Rain status should change to triggered.
Sun detection
It is easy to check if the Bond Breeze Pro is closing devices according to the triggers in the Bond Home application. Make sure the Breeze Pro is outside near the final installation position. Have the Threshold value set for the triggered action. When the light intensity reaches your trigger value, the devices should move to the position you set and the status should change to triggered.
Threshold values
< 200 Lux = 0 - Dark
< 500 Lux = 1 - Twilight
< 1000 Lux = 2 - Deep Shade
< 2000 Luz = 3 - Shade
< 4000 Lux = 4 - Light Shade
< 35000 Lux = 5 - Light Sunlight
< 100000 Lux = 6 - Sunlight
< 180000 Lux = 7 - Bright Sunlight
Otherwise = 8 - Brightest Sunlight
