Bond Bridge - 2.4GHz remotes are not supported

The current Bond Bridge and Pro do not support 2.4GHz remotes.

*We do not have any information nor a timeframe as to when a product will be developed to support 2.4GHz remotes.

  • I posted a feature request. Hop over and vote. Let's see if that moves it up in the priority list.

  • How annoying to find this thread. :(

Really desperate to find an RF blaster that supports my fans.

I eventually determined that it was on the 2.4Ghz band, and was hoping Bond could support.

Does anyone have an update of when BOND will support this style?
Or does anyone have any good blogs on any other products that would work on 2.4Ghz?

  • Unfortunately no products that I have found will work with 2.4Ghz.
It's been more than 2 years for 2.4 Ghz support; I expect at this point it will never happen.

  • "adding in a few months" - it doesn't seem like its there yet, any update?

  • I agree this needs to be fixed. Let's please see an update here. Question: Is the device physically capable of producing 2.4 GHz signals?

  • Are you all updating anything? Not supporting this after 3 years of "it might be coming" is unacceptable. I see the same thing with HomeKit support.

Thought this would be a cool update to my system - but doesn't work with most current and/or premium devices.

  • "Unfortunately we are not supporting this remote as it is a 2.4GHz remote. The great majority of fan remotes are under 434MHz. The BOND will eventually support proprietary 2.4GHz remote controls but this is something that will take few months for us to achieve."

    Right on this website:
"Works with any remote-controlled ceiling fan"

    NOT TRUE.
THEY ARE STILL FALSE ADVERTISING AFTER 3 YEARS OF COMPLAINTS.

  • We need a resolution on this please. Can someone please give us an honest answer. If it won’t work please tell us so we can stop trying and move on to another solution. Thank you!

  • I also have a pair of monty carlo fans with the 7rc04-cf10001 remote, and bought the bond to control them - it would be great to get some indication as to whether supporting these is still on the road map - otherwise I'll probably return the bond, take apart one of the remotes, and operate it via mqtt.

  • I purchased the bond bridge in order to control a new fan that I had purchased. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FVPHY16/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Great fan, but I didn’t have time to install the bridge for about 3 months. To my surprise, it wasn’t till I got through the entire set-up process and subsequent troubleshooting that I found out that the bond does not support remotes for these fans. I found the post from 2017 that support was coming soon, I then had hopes that it was supported by now, three years later, but no such support versions were made.
I now have a dead bond with no use and too late for a return, despite the package being opened for less than 24 hours. Any updates...?
    Thank you!

  • This is ridiculous! 3 years? I have the bond and have it controlling 4 fans for quite sometime now but just replaced one with a Monte Carlo 2.4Ghz without realizing it wouldn't work. I can't believe they are silent on this issue at those point. I hope it's a technical limitation of the hardware and not sheer laziness on the part of the company. Seems like it it wasn't technically possible they'd just come out and say it.

  • Let me help end everyone's pain and waiting for a fix to come out for existing devices - it does indeed seem to be a hardware limitation for the current bridge. So if you own a version of the Bond Bridge manufactured up to now, no firmware update will help you.

I found this out because I opened a support ticket asking for a status update, and I got the following response:
"We understand the frustration. However, the Bond's hardware cannot detect a 2.4GHz frequency and we have no information if we will manufacture a new Bond that can detect such frequency."

    and this follow-up:
"Our engineering team is aware that we have users who are looking forward to support devices that have a 2.4GHz frequency. We have tagged your ticket so once it becomes available, you will be notified."

So I'd suggest opening a support ticket asking for 2.4GHz support - a) so that they can know how many people out there are waiting for it, and b) you will get updated if a new device that supports it ever does get released.

But I wouldn't hold your breath.

  • I suppose I am too late to the party. I just had my Monte Carlo fan installed and was really hoping to get the fan automated when the temperature is high.

Back in 2017 it looked like Bond Bridge was capable of handling 2.4G signal and it was just a matter of implementation, but 4yrs later It looks like there's still no viable solution to have a 2.4G remote automated regardless...

  • I know this is an old post but just wondering if you still plan to add 2.4GHz support to the existing or a new Bond device? Lots of Monte Carlo fans out there. If no longer planning on adding 2.4G, please update that in this thread. Thanks.

  • Yeah, I would love to be able to control my Monte Carlo fans. The pro version doesn't support 2.4G, right?

  • I also have at least a dozen Maverick fans. Would love to integrate them into My controller and not have to keep chasing remotes. Bond has been claiming a plan to release a 2.4 ghz version for a couple of years now. Is there a real plan out there?

  • I ordered this remote to replace the one on two of my 2.4ghz fans and now I can control the fans with the Bond app and with Alexa.

  • @doug, that info for that YukiHalu Control Kit claims to only be compatible with AC fans. My Monte Carlo Maverick fans are DC
